Dear performers,
First of all thank you for being a part of this choir.
I'm really excited and curious to see how it will turn out.
A few words about the protocol and what I'll expect from you.
We will meet at 15:00 on the day of the recording.
There will be a few minutes of try-out to ensure everything is recording well.
We will start shortly after.
We'll provide coffee and snacks.
If you want to snack or drink a cup of coffee make sure to arrive slightly earlier, e.g. 14:45.
Please be on time as it is really important that we all start humming at the same time.
We will all be humming Happy Birthday as performed in this video.
Adam Fields is a chiropractor based in CA. In other words he is a Youtube Star.
When you arrive we will try different paces to find our common rhythm.
The song should be hummed in loop without interruption or break between each loop.
You will be divided in four different vocal range groups: soprano alto tenor bass.
Each group will have a microphone set-up for recording.
The most important is to start humming all at the same time.
You can leave the formation at any time.
If wanted it is possible to hum for 20 minutes an hour or even longer.
The time work and energy that you want to give is up to you.
Little by little the choir dwindles until the last person leaves the recording room.
When you leave please be as quiet as possible.
We will find a system for the door to stay ajar and easy to access.
You have to know that the recording of this performance will be used for a 4-channel sound installation project.
Please only join if you agree with it.
If needed I can provide contracts or signed agreements.
I unfortunately cannot offer a financial compensation for your participation.
I would be happy to help you in return with any project you might have. Do not hesitate to reach out.
We still need a few more hummers.
If you have some friends who might be interested please share this call sheet with them.
Let me know in case you can't make it and if I can keep your contact for other recording projects.
Looking forward to see you there.
Best,
Emma R.F.B.
